Did Sugizo have a new S-II guitar custom built for the X concerts??? :-O

I'm not talking about the V-style guitar; I mean the "S" style with the chrome "brilliant -mixed media-" top.

Spoiler:

It's not an S-I or an S-III or the new S-VIII that he had made for "One Night Deja Vu"... I don't think anyone's seen it before O_o;;;

Well, here's what's certain...

1) 24 frets
2) Floyd Rose style locking bridge, not a vintage tremolo bridge as featured on his new guitars
3) Two passive pickups... humbucker and single coil... both with exposed magenetic poles

By its specifications, it technically IS an S-II with a different neck pickup (original one had a SCR-1n 'cool rails' pickup)

http://www.espguitars.co.jp/gallery/sugizo/guitarfile/0006/index.html

However... we certainly have NOT seen one with a "Brilliant -mixed media-" top... unless I'm mistaken? o.o;;;

You're not mistaken, I don't think.

I'm 90% sure we've never seen this one before. Not sure about the floyd part, though. From the picture, the trem looks like a floyd, yeah, but the nut looks like the one he's got on his guitars now.

And the pickups I've definately never seen before. They're on his guitar file pages under the name S-II, but... has he ever used them live? I haven't noticed.

Yeah, I can only assume it's a JB and Antiquity.

He only used those types of guitars on RASEN, but that's the only I know of. *shrug*

Makes sense. I guess he thought X merited a heavier sound than his usual one.

Although, he used the flying V shaped guitar for the song I.V. ... and that one has a P90 bridge pickup. Aren't those... low output? *confused*

Either way, it must be nice to be able to have a custom guitar made just like THAT.

Lol, I kind of agree with that. Old LUNA SEA stuff, he used that kind of thing. And in the '92 Extasy live, he had the PR guitar with EMGs.

And I dunno, I haven't checked out the Lollar's that much, but they sound pretty good from what we've seen so far.

Yes, P90 pickups are lower output than your standard humbucker, but are warmer and fatter sounding than your standard single coil pickup. Single coil players looking for a fatter sound without compromising the output and feel by going to hums, usually go P90.

And if you play a high gain amp, high output isn't really required. But i don't know what Sugizo is up on this time around.

Which brings us to my next question. All I could catch a glimpse of at the One Night Deja Vu broadcast were Fender cabs and a rackmount tuner on some sort of stand. His heads were obviously behind the scenes somewhere O_o;;; But it's possible that I'm overlooking something... Anyone else notice anything at all?

As for guessing by sound, it's tricky, because Sugizo sounds like himself through any gear, and also now he has a different bridge pickup in his guitars. My guess would be CAE OD-100, but that's just because I WANT it to be true lol... Well, the leads don't didn't sound nearly Marshally enough, not enough sag or fizz to be a Bogner XTC. I'm still guessing CAE by sound... either that or Fender, and I REALLY want it to be CAE -.-;
