Don't say fat :(([/quote]
Why? There are two buddhas that I've seen: a regular one and a fat one, the latter being the typical being seen in little statues in some shops around my town. Btw, my purpose for writing "fat" wasn't to offend anyone.
Demi: He really said that about them? I had no idea, except that it was like some habit of getting one on an almost regular basis. Same goes for Kaoru although he explained the meaning for the Japanese Zombie Heroez tat. And I agree with you on the opinion of tattoos being kitsch.
About the carpets, I think Persian carpets look nice, so yeah, I got a little interested in that although it's totally off-topic. XD

I was not overly serious here. Just the ever returning discussions on body weight of some of the band members came to my mind and I had to grin. Let's see what body type the one in the tattoo has. I personally prefer normal type anyway, it looks more natural to me.

And then there is always the anorexia nevrosa Buddha http://www.thebeautyofdevotion.com/2267751172_53a169234a_b.jpg
...bad humor aside, I find the slim Buddha a very calming, soft, feminine even, presence, while the fatter depictions are not nearly as serene if you ask me. More like depictions of a rich ruler, than a peaceful God. Oh well.
^Exactly. And it also happens I am way more familiar with the slim one. The very skinny depiction of Buddha shows him in a certain period of his life and is not meant to show his "ordinary"/"usual" condition.
There are some Buddha depictions that are way too feminine for my taste.

Since one of my favorite Buddhist "cults (dogmas? beliefs?)", the yab-yum -which symbolizes utter meaninglessness of the outer 'gender' through the unity of our inner male and female qualities-, I do find the feminine (genderless, if you ask me) ones most appropriate.

Lol, that never came to my mind at all. XD The only fat I was referring to was the buddha, not any of the members.

I think this reflects the culture of the manufacturing country/region/time rather than the dogma. Was it Thailand or Singapore?

Exactly. It was either Thailand or some neighbouring country, I don't remember in any case.
@Avalon:
Not exactly thinking you were referring to the members, it just came to my mind when I thought of a normal sized Buddha and you said "fat".

Again, go and read the interviewS (!) again.

Ahhhh tact is an art that avoids some, I suppose. If the boney one is the anorexia nervosa buddha, the depiction of buddha that is a normal weight yet gaunt in the face with bruises on the hand and heart defects would be the bulimia nervosa buddha? Or is that only shown in pictures of buddha when he's surrounded by empty packets and half-eaten foods puking into a bucket and sneaking into the yard with a bag of puke hoping no one sees and asks wtf they have in their hand?
Yeah, went there. I'm kinda with Meghna in certain topics just not being amusing ever. Weight and eating disorders are not funny, they are life destroying and s***. Then again, for people that have never spent Christmas in A and E and left with permanent heart damage I suppose the whole concept is as amusing as it is baffling.

Oh Jely... If you could only take yourself a bit less seriously, you would be a much happier person. But what can the others know about you? No nono... We shall never ever talk about EDs again, will this make them go away?
@kareki: once again, you give incredulously different meanings to the same things everyone reads, so go suck on a hot dog instead of contributing void arguments just for the sake of being speshul.

I think I just would prefer if s*** that kill people weren't reduced to jokes.
In other news, I want to see the tattoo, I would find it rather odd for Kyp to have a laughing buddha on a lotus flower, I'm interested in what depiction he's gone for.
