So, my copy of Shiver arrived today
I got the Limited Edition "Optical Impression", it contains Shiver, Hesistating means death and a dvd with the pc and a "making of" segment.
It also came with a poster.
Shiver, I think is a good song, I'd throw it along the ranks of Regret in terms of style, and the PV has some pretty industrial settings, but I feel wasn't as imaginative as some of their other PV's.
Inside the Booklet I received a neat little gazette sticker, much like all their other cd's that I have, and of course lyrics.
Hesitating Means Death isn't a bad song, but I feel it's a tad repetitive, it probably sounds alot better live.
I'm not going to comment on the third track, as you don't get that on the optical impression version.
Shiver - its a decent song, but I got bored with it after a few listens. I agree it reminds me of Wakarimachi and Regret mixed together.
Hesitating Means Death - agreed. repetitive but I enjoy it. I liked the part in the middle after the chorus about 1min 10 sec into it. Where he's like "I still remember you"(?) I also like the varying tempo change with the heavier sections.
奈落 - Personally, this is my favorite song on the whole single! Love the intro. Very mysterious sounding. The guitar riffs on this song are awesome and I love the solo. made me cream my pants even though its not complicated. It was a good icing on the cake. The chorus is really solid too. This song just fit together so well. Hope they put it on the next album.
mmm i feel like shiver is a little too commercial feeling, and people don't kill me for saying this.
I really love the GazettE and stuff but, ruki feels a little fake in this album.
his voice sounds like it has some sort of unatural change or something, doesn't
have that same Ruki-Feeling. I mean, last time i heard it was in Mayakashi.
Before I Decay...it had a little bit of it but not really.
Although SHIVER is a catchy song, and HESITATING MEANS DEATH (omg the high harmony part at 1.28 is really nice) has a nice tune and whatnot, i'm not really
"wow-ed" by it.
His hair is simmilar to the one of THE INVISIBLE WALL's, no?
and OMG REITA LOOKS GOOD WITH THICKER EYEBROWS (and they're brown, lighter!)

Shiver - it sorta grows onto me, its CATCHINESS.. but it feels like I have already listened to something similar to this song already. I agree, it is a like a mash up of some old songs, like zakurogata no yuuutsu and regret or smthn. ALSO, YES, BORING VIDEO. I know that its supposed to be BLACK BUTLER and BLACK N WHITE THEME n everything. But still. It could have been more interesting even if it were in black n white. Have a story in black n white?? :S ALSO. The camera kept of frkkin shaking n moving in the mv, you don't get a still shot for more than 2 seconds!
Hesitating Means Death- It is okay, the guitar is pretty catchy!! :) I think this song should have been in the Before I Decay album or smthn cuz it sounds similar.... or same theme... I like the fact that he has that "rough" voice. The voice that he has to gargle liquid before? or after? he sings ;) Also,, I don't like the part when Ruki goes "Don't forget the meaning that PULLED a trigger" the PULLED part. the HIGH part. It sounds so random!! the chorus had some interesting new elements to it, but sounded like it was on fast forward and all of a sudden you hear this high note (8)PULLED(8) in the jumble of fast forwarding lol :| Ruki's english is also... I never knew it was English until I looked at the lyrics.
Naraku- Fav on album. Maybe the contrast of this song from the other songs on the album is most diff. If this song was in a normal album, it would probably be MEHH,, ok good. But I guess that it is in the album, I would say, the best one in the album :D? I like that the Gazette has also experimented with more sounds with this album. It sounded a little Evanescence to me. Awesome guitars too :) I liked the part between the first chorus and second verse! But I liked the beginning, it is easy to recognize the song. (Eg. listening to your mp3, and you hear the beginning of this song and you INSTANTLY know what song it is xD) But I guess I DO like this song :) It's not a song that would listen over and over again. But I wouldn't skip it on my mp3... I don't mind it. I would enjoy it. Just not repeat it xD.... its a song that I would wallow my mind in. Soak my mind with emoness in. Have nothing on my mind my feelings of.... just not happy feelings. I also like the VERY end, when Ruki is like "taaAA" and the instruments have already shut off so his voice just trails off... > <!!! LOL so descriptive rite, but I LIKE THAT A LOT. sexy voice rite.
OVERALL, this album was NOT that creative, they could have done better. I hope this is one of their lazy albums or like albums that they don't care as much or smthn since the main song is for an anime opening ANYWAY. But yea. They could have done muuuuuch better!!!!
I HOPE. PRAY. WISH. that their next single will be 1293128478347328x better than this one!
